Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Furniture Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate should be proficient in crafting and assembling furniture pieces according to specifications. The role requires a strong understanding of various woodworking techniques and the ability to work with different types of materials. The Furniture Carpenter will be responsible for producing high-quality furniture products that meet the company's standards and client requirements.

Responsibilities:

1. Interpreting blueprints and design sketches to create furniture pieces that meet client specifications.
2. Selecting and sourcing appropriate materials, such as wood, hardware, and other necessary components, for furniture production.
3. Using hand and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials to construct furniture items.
4. Ensuring precision and accuracy in measurements and cuts to maintain high-quality standards.
5. Operating woodworking machinery, including saws, drills, and sanders, safely and efficiently.
6. Inspecting finished products for quality and identifying any defects or imperfections for immediate rectification.
7. Collaborating with the design team and other carpenters to ensure efficient production and timely completion of projects.
8. Following established safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure and hazard-free working environment.
9. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace and properly storing tools and materials after use.
10. Providing guidance and support to junior carpenters and apprentices when necessary.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience working as a Furniture Carpenter or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or woodworking setting.
2. In-depth knowledge of woodworking tools and machinery, with the ability to operate them effectively and safely.
3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting design plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
4. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, durable, and aesthetically appealing furniture pieces.
5. Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina to handle the demands of carpentry work, including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
8. A keen eye for design and a creative approach to furniture construction and customization.
9. Willingness to learn and stay updated with industry trends, techniques, and best practices in furniture carpentry.
10. High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in carpentry or woodworking is preferred.
