If you've decided to expand your company to Kuwait, you have two options for hiring new employees: you can hire skilled people from outside or take advantage of the local labor market. The second method requires you to ensure that all foreign employees in Kuwait have the necessary visas and permits to operate there. Businesses that have recently joined the Kuwaiti market may also find it challenging to sponsor work permits for employees because they must be licensed and established locally.

Kuwait offers a variety of work visa types:

The kind of visa a visitor can receive for a trip to Kuwait depends on their eligibility for admission, how long they plan to stay, and the reason for their trip. Several options include the following:

Tourist visa:

Holders of this visa can enter Kuwait and travel around freely. The only prerequisites for candidates are providing basic information, such as their name, address, and passport number, and answering a few questions.

There are various subcategories of visit visas depending on why the applicant is entering the nation. The applicant must have a Kuwait-based relative or business sponsor to be approved for this visa.

Any expatriates who are not citizens of a nation member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) must apply for a resident visa to live in Kuwait. The work visa, the residential visa, and the dependent visa are the three main categories for this visa.

Entry visa:

Individuals with entrance visas who work for the government or the civil service can grant visas to clients who wish to join providers, but they must first pay a specific minimum fee.

Conditions for Obtaining Kuwaiti Employment Visas:

Most of your staff will need a resident visa before starting work for your business. An employment offer from a private company or a government agency is required for this visa. After that, as the employer, you must apply for a work permit or visa on your employees' behalf.

The following items are on the list of paperwork required to apply for a work visa:

●    A passport that is valid for at least six months after its expiration date
●    A completed visa application that Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has granted
●    A passport-sized photograph
●    A screening for AIDS and HIV
●    It is necessary to present a health certificate from a nearby doctor attesting to the applicant's good health and absence of any contagious illnesses.
●    Police clearance stating there is no history of criminal activity

Your employee will be given the authorization to travel to Kuwait upon submitting the documentation above and receipt of a "No Objection Certificate," or NOC. A residence visa will be issued as soon as they land in Kuwait. After that, your employee has 30 days from the time they acquire their residency visa to apply for a Kuwaiti civil ID.
