Job Overview
Responsibilities:
Interpret and understand engineering drawings and plans detailing the placement and positioning of steel reinforcement.
Cut, bend, and shape steel bars and mesh using appropriate tools and equipment.
Assemble and position steel bars and mesh accurately within formwork to ensure proper concrete reinforcement.
Secure steel bars and mesh in place using wire, tying tools, and other fastening methods.
Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as concrete workers and supervisors, to ensure seamless execution of projects.
Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a secure work environment for oneself and fellow team members.
Inspect and assess existing concrete structures to determine the necessary steel reinforcement.
Maintain tools and equipment in good condition, reporting any defects or issues to supervisors.
Keep accurate records of materials used and work completed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Proven experience as a Steel Fixer or in a similar role, with a minimum of [X] years of experience.
In-depth knowledge of steel fixing techniques, materials, and tools.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and plans accurately.
Proficiency in using cutting, bending, and tying tools specific to steel fixing.

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in steel fixing is a plus.
